Short Vita of the Artist

Harald Weiskopf showed a keen interest in the craft of sculpture from a young age. After completing primary and secondary school in Virgen, a small mountain community in East Tyrol, he decided to attend the School of Arts and Design in Elbigenalp, where he specialized in wood sculpture. After successfully graduating in 2015, he continued his education in South Tyrol, attending the School of Stone Carving in Lasa/Laas for two years. During his school years, Weiskopf delved deeply into working with various materials such as wood, stone, and terracotta, and learned different casting techniques. He also participated in various symposia both domestically and abroad, which allowed him to significantly broaden his artistic horizons. At the end of 2018, Harald Weiskopf decided to take the step towards self-employment. Since then, he has primarily worked in the shared studio at Messinggasse 12 in Lienz, the main town of East Tyrol. During the summer months, he can also be found at the sculpture workshop in Virgen. Weiskopf warmly invites art enthusiasts to visit him at one of his workplaces and to personally discover his works.
